Pregnancy After Breast Cancer

Whilst hotly debated in the past, a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute has indicated that pregnancy does not incur a greater relapse risk for breast cancer survivors.

In cases of estrogen-receptor (ER) positive breast cancer, where hormones can promote the growth and spread of breast cancer, it was thought that recurrence would be more likely in pregnancy.

But, these new findings show that pregnancy does not increase breast cancer recurrence risk.
