A study led by a Boston University School of Public Health researcher on the relationship between human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and fertility found that the vaccine led to improved fertility in some women.

At this point, more than 40 percent of American teenagers are being vaccinated against HPV. HPV infections have been linked to reduced semen quality and lower pregnancy rates. Albeit this, there was still some concern as to the effect of the HPV vaccination on future fertility.

The study found no negative effects of the vaccine on fertility. It did find that, in fact, it may even protect fertility amongst individuals who have had other STIs.
