Efforts to build and sustain a breastfeeding relationship with your little one may have more far reaching advantages outside of the benefits we are already aware of.
Results of a new study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association reveal that breastfeeding may in fact lower women’s risk of heart disease and stroke.
Researchers analyzed information from around 300,000 women in China, discovering that those who were moms and who had breastfed were 10% less at risk than those moms who had not. They also noted that whilst the study could not offer concrete proof that breastfeeding is the reason behind this, the findings suggest that increasing breastfeeding rates could be of benefit to maternal cardiovascular health.
